Learning to stay…

In hard moments, in the present, with this breath, through meditation we learn to stay. When we learn to stay we feel, this can sound scary but only when we feel can we let anything go, and letting go is the path to contentment and freedom.

When we practice together I will teach you simple mindfulness tools and meditation techniques to help you connect to the only thing that has to happen, the breath. By continuing to come back to the breath you begin to train yourself to not get taken away in thought and create a calming space in your mind. A space where you can finally relax, come back to your heart and feel your humanity in its natural, balanced state.

The more you practice, the more this calm sense of being will begin to influence your days and even the people around you. You will begin to create that same space in all that you do and become less reactive and more intuitive. The more present you become the less anxious and stressed out as so much of these emotions are based in thought of the future and past. There is much less to worry about in the present moment, believe it or not:)

Meditation is not an instant cure, but it is also not a band-aid. It is a natural process to bring you back to your core self, your natural state, your basic humanity. Not becoming anything you are not, but rather peeling back the layers to reveal the person in you that was there all along.
